Home away from home with our Boarding houses.
We love watching our Boarders grow up alongside one another and develop amazing friendships, confidence, independence and a sense of lasting sisterhood.
Our experienced, compassionate team has welcomed hundreds of girls to our Boarding family over the years, and with every girl our heart is warmed as we see them adjust to living away from home.
When I first came to Boarding in Year 9, it was inevitably scary as I had never done anything like this before except for the occasional camp, or stories I had read in books. However, as soon as I arrived and entered through the Boarding doors, I was wrapped up in the Boarding community, full of laughs, support and friendship, and have never looked back since.
– Head Boarder, Sarah Lock
Kahunui — meaning ‘big hawk’ in Māori — is a unique and transformative experience.
Nothing equips girls for the future better than Kahunui – our exclusive outdoor education and life skills centre in the Bay of Plenty – offering a unique and transformative experience for all Year 10 girls.
St Cuthbert’s is the only girls’ school to offer a residential life skills outdoor learning programme on a separate campus, which is designed to advance all levels of fitness – social, physical, emotional and intellectual. Our girls emerge with new-found resilience and self-confidence, and a fresh appreciation of their home and family.
